BARAKA RICE MILLERS & STORES REVVED FOR FITNESS CHALLENGE

In 2018, after the league was founded, players suggested an initiative to give back to the community. That was the birth of KSBC Cares. The basketball players and the community welcomed the thought and ever since, giving back has been a core value of the league.

During the eventful time of the COVID 19 pandemic, KSBC cares partnered with a couple of institutions to alleviate the hard times the community had been facing.

The KSBC Cares headed to Kamulu to give back to the community there i.e., Made in the Streets, with the great help of Baraka Rice Millers and Stores Limited KSBC Cares was able to donate more than 20 kgs of pishori rice. This came very handy in alleviating the pressure for Made In The Streets childrens’ program due to limited donor funding.

A myriad of outreaches have been made with the help of Baraka Rice Millers & Stores Ltd and together we’ve worked towards building the culture of giving back.

Recently, Baraka Rice Millers & Stores started an initiative called the #BarakaKsbcJuneChallenge. The endeavor is fitness and in the process, work with the teams whilst giving incentives for participation.

The team that will be selected will have the benefit of sponsorship of their annual league fees catered for by Baraka Rice Millers & Stores Ltd.

Such acts go a long way to building a culture of ‘be my brethren’s keeper’ which is a principle part of our lives in good times and not so favorable times.
