REPORT: Underdogs run 3-point riot fest as Jaguars poor run of form end up in blowout weekend

Jaguars had an outing to forget as they suffered blowout defeats in back-to-back games this past weekend. It was a rough routing especially Sunday afternoon when they faced a motivated Underdogs team in their best form. The Roysambu based team shot lights out for the entire game and didn’t give their opponents any chance to score. Led by debutant Victor ‘baba’ Mwoka, who took home player of the week honors, they managed to beat Jaguars 86-30. The player of the week ended up with 16 Points 16 Rebounds 3 Assists 2 Steals in the game while they ended up hitting 12 total shots from beyond the arc. Another disappointing game for Jaguars as they failed to overcome Blackhawks, also seeking to change form, who came out with their entire arsenal to blow them out 76-48. With the long road ahead and tougher opponents still to come, how will Jaguars refuel their hunger for victory as they anguish at the bottom of the table with zero wins.

4-Christ managed to send Soul Kings packing with a 64-33 score line in Sunday’s prime time fixture. Despite Wycliffe Matiko putting up a resilient fight, the soldiers failed to hold on in the end and could not match up the duo of Ronald Odhiambo and Daniel Muturi. A spirited fight for the captain of the army men who ended up with 13 Points 8 Rebounds 1 Assist, we salute you.

KCA’s Felix Matheka on the free throw line against Thika Pines in the previous game week.

Jedi Order was a no show on Sunday against JKUAT Clippers after their thinned-out squad received a beating from Dub Neshen the previous day 66-40. Despite putting up a fight in the first half of the game, Jedi could no longer hold on a fatigue creeped in. They only managed to score 9 Points the entire second half, a league low record since its inception. We’ll be hoping for a big bounce back next game as the forfeited game against Clippers took them from top four to the second page of the league table.

It was a battle of redemption for Saints as they ousted KSBC Wazee in the second half of a close game 47-41. Crucial turnovers from the Wazee camp allowed Saints to creep back slowly into the game after they trailed for most of the game. It was in the fourth quarter when the Korogocho based team took over after hard pressing Wazee for the entire quarter. Saints who were in need of a victory to even out their win percentage managed to uplift their position for the playoffs and now stand 13th on the log at 0.500 PCT. in other results however, KSBC Wazee managed to beat KCA 40-15 in yet another low scoring affair.

Delmonte had a double game week that also ended horribly after they were beat by both Nexus, who have seen a good run of form, and The Firm who established the Rule of Law against the Thika based side. Big man duo of Max Mugambi and Martison Nyakundi was too much for Delmonte to handle as they fell 69-50. Nexus who also showed renewed energy as their hunger for victory increases managed to grab the win 57-43 being the final score.
